In Wellness, the Issue Is Not More Treatments but the Right System

One of the biggest misconceptions in the wellness sector is this:

We assume that the more services a centre offers, the more valuable it becomes.

Yet a centre may hold dozens of devices, tests and treatments. But if there is no correct assessment, appropriate guidance, competent team and regular follow-up, what stands there is not a strong wellness model — only a long list of services.

The Wellness Services Regulation published in Turkey on 4 July 2026 moved the wellness field into a much clearer framework of licensing, staffing, record keeping, safety and inspection.

While it opened the way for wellness centres or units to be established in structures ranging from accommodation facilities to sports clubs, from care centres to standalone buildings, it also defined a broad service area.

But in my view the truly transformative side of the regulation is that it shows how these services should be structured, rather than merely which services may be offered.

Because a genuine wellness model must be built on;

  • correct assessment,
  • personalised programming,
  • competent professionals,
  • safe delivery,
  • records and follow-up,
  • measurable results.

Technologies, devices and advanced analyses are valuable tools within that structure. But tools coming together do not create a system on their own.

The real value appears where the person’s needs are analysed correctly, where treatments are connected to one another, and where the process can be managed from beginning to end.

For this reason I see the new regulation not merely as a legal arrangement, but as an important threshold for the professionalisation of longevity and wellness in Turkey.

The centres that will make a difference in the coming period will not be those that buy the most devices or prepare the longest service list. They will be the ones that bring service safety, team coordination, operations and client experience together inside the right system.

Because in wellness the issue is not more treatments, but the right system.
