The First Step of Building a Longevity Clinic Is Not Choosing Devices

There is a question I encounter more and more often in the health sector:

“Where should we start when building a longevity clinic?”

The conversations mostly begin with devices, tests and treatments. Genetic analyses, biological age measurements, red light systems, IV treatments, peptides, metabolic tests…

Each of these can be a valuable tool when used correctly.

But the first decision to be made when building a longevity clinic is not which devices to buy.

First, these questions need to be answered:

  • Which patient group will the centre serve?
  • With what need will the patient walk into the clinic, and what result will they obtain at the end of the process?
  • How will the tests and measurements be turned into a personalised health plan?
  • How will the physician, dietitian, physiotherapist and other specialists work in coordination for the same patient?
  • How will the results be measured, and with what system will the patient be followed up?

Because a strong portfolio of technology and treatments does not create a strong clinical model on its own.

The real value of the longevity approach appears at the point where assessment, personalisation, multidisciplinary work and regular follow-up are connected to one another.

So when building a longevity clinic the first question should not be “Which devices should we buy?” but “What kind of working system should we build?”
